These days, there’s an increasing pressure for us to stay healthy. With the increased importance placed on beauty, to the ever-increasing pressures from work and home life, we have to keep up with it all. 

5 Things to Do for Staying Healthy

Staying physically fit is one of the best ways you can keep up with all of this. When you have good stamina and muscle mass, you are better able to face life’s challenges.

In this post, I want to give you 5 practical tips you can use for staying healthy.

1. Exercise at least 3 hours per week

Research tells us that we should get at least 3 hours of exercise per week in order to stay healthy. The reason for this is that not exercising will lead to laziness, weight gain, and increased risk of heart disease and obesity. There are lots of different exercises you can do. This includes walking, running, elliptical, bodyweight exercises, and weightlifting. It’s healthy to do a mix between these. The most important thing is that you get 3 hours or more exercise each week.

2. Get a massage twice per month


The daily stresses of life can really get to us. They tend to wear our body down and cause all sorts of tensions. You can relieve this by getting a massage regularly. You can go to a spa or massage parlour to do this. Massages can be expensive, so you don’t necessarily need to do it every week. You can get a massage once every 2 weeks.

3. Cook more food at home

Cooking your food at home is an excellent way to stay healthy. Homemade food is much healthier than food made outside. You can feel the differences in flavour and freshness. I recommend making fresh food at home, using whole foods like whole wheat bread, brown rice, fruits, vegetables, meat, and fish. If you’re a vegetarian, you can replace meat with tofu. It’s also important to have the right cooking appliances at home. Getting a mixer was one of the best decisions I made in cooking. You should also get a mixer grinder if you want to make your cooking easier.

4. Get more rest

If you’re a student or working professional, then the chances are that you’re not getting enough rest or sleep. I can’t understate the importance of good quality sleep. It’s one of the keys to staying healthy and energetic throughout your day. The conventional wisdom is to get 8 hours of sleep a day. But everyone is different, so this can vary for you. Some people can function well on 6 – 7 hours. You can also try taking naps during the day, which help energize you.

5. Spend less time on the internet

Did you know that we think about too many things these days? The advent of globalization and the internet has made the world much smaller and more connected. While there are advantages to this, there also come some disadvantages. We tend to worry too much about social media, the news, etc. which isn’t good for our mental health or stress.

The way to deal with this is to spend less time on the internet. Go out more and interact with people. Instead of having a lot of friends on Facebook, have just a few friends in real life.
