A Motivational Interview with Archana Dhankar to keep your standards high in Blogging

Fashion For royals

Archana Dhankar, a UK based fashion blogger, personal stylist and an image consultant, started her blog way back in the year 2012. Along with her passion for fashion, she is also a digital marketer with over 12 years of experience. Her role doesn’t limit to this. She is also a mother. Let’s find out more about her and discover her journey as a fashion influencer and blogger.

Q1. Tell us something about yourself and your blog?

A:  I am a fashion blogger, personal stylist & Image consultant based in London. I am a computer engineer and have been blogging for over 5 years now.  I have over 12 years of experience in digital marketing, which has helped me a great deal in getting the blog established in its domain.

Q2. What sparked your interest in Fashion?

A: I always had an eye for fashion. I have loved fashion and the idea of playing with different outfits and liked the idea of styling my outfits in different ways. I love to experiment and create fusion looks and my love for fashion is never-ending.

Q3: Why you named your venture as FashionForRoyals? Share the idea behind it.

A: FashionForRoyals is not just another blog. I chose this name with a purpose. I feel that there comes the point in every woman’s life where she wants to dress like a Cinderella, wants to feel like a princess. Through my blog, I want to show that this is possible. This magical transformation needs very minimum efforts, and every woman can do it.

Q4. Why do you think people should read your blog?

A: As I said, I have been graduated from Delhi and later shifted to the UK. I understand both Indian and Western Culture. My roots to India and exposure to western world helped me learn both the cultures. You can see in my blogs how I keep experimenting with Indian looks adding a western touch to it to make it comfortable for modern women. I love experimenting with fashion and my blog is a clear reflection of my vision.

Also, my love for traveling has added a new global dimension to it. Another factor that is USP of my blog is that one can avail my styling services from any part of the world.

I know many people residing in the UK who love Indian fashion, but they are not much confident about it.  I try to blog every week to keep my readers updated with latest trends and giving them tips to improve their vogue statement.

Q5: How did you come up with the concept of Fashion when you already had over 12 years of experience in Digital Marketing?

A: My purpose behind starting my blog was to empower other women. I am using my personal experiences to help other women discover their inner fashionista. The experience I own in the field of digital marketing is helping me in strengthening my blog.

Q6: What do you think is the most challenging part in the field of Blogging?

A:  According to me, the most significant challenge any blogger faces is managing work-life balance. We need to make sure that we do not overdo work. I have a young family, and I try to make sure I spend quality time with them. I am very passionate about my work.  Being a blogger is not an easy task. It demands a lot of time and efforts. At the initial stage, it felt like a significant challenge to overcome. However, now I feel relaxed with my management. My husband’s support made a significant contribution and made it much easier for me.

Q7: What motivates you?

A: My biggest motivation is other women around me. I love to help them and inspire them. Sometimes all we need is guidance to do better. I had faced the same struggle when I was a kid. Due to limited guidance, I could not get much exposure to fashion choices. Thereby, I’d love to use this medium as a way of helping others who seek the same problem and facing the same situation.

Q8: What is your personal style statement?

A: Stylish, trendy and something in which I can feel comfortable and versatile.  I don’t follow trends blindly and always seek comfy clothes over style trends.

Q9: What are your favorite books?

A: I love to read.  I read a variety of books. Fashion Book That Extra Half an Inch is one of my favorite fashion books every girl must read.

Q10: Do you think there is a career in Blogging?

A: Undoubtedly, Blogging is a good option, and there can also be living by Blogging. However, the earning part doesn’t come quickly. One has to make sure the quality of the content is catering to their readers. There should be uniqueness in content and interaction with the readers. Remember it takes a lot of time, effort, and hard work for any startup to develop. Similarly is the blogging. Once you build followership, there would be chances of earning from different sources.

Q11: What advice you would give to newbies who wish to follow similar career path?

A: My advice to them would be to have faith and stay consistent because sometimes we lose faith in the start. But that’s all in the initial stage. Your hard work will pay off in the long run. Have faith and Believe in yourself. Keep working hard. One day, you’ll get succeed.
