Undergarments are washed better when hand washed. You might not know, but most undergarments are made of delicate materials. Only cotton underwears benefit from being done in a washing machine.

They might not survive aggressive tugs, scrubs, and stretches inside the washer. Washing machines can be harsh, you may put the washer in gentle cycle mode, but the friction might still damage it. Let your hands do the delicate cycle to your undergarments.

Moreover, wash your undergarments with cold water, it maintains the elasticity of its fabric fiber and keeps them from stretching out or damaging their shape. Do not attempt to wash them in hot water.

Do: Line or air dry; Don’t: Machine dry your undergarments.

Washing your undergarments in hot water is not recommended; how much more if you toss them in a dryer? It is best to hang, and air dry them on a laundry rack to have fresh and dry undergarments. Drying them in this method helps retain their shape, elasticity, and color. Moreover, this help reduces your electricity bill.

If you have extra delicate undergarments, it is best to place them on a towel to help absorb the water. Once the water is drained out, hang them on a laundry rack. Do not wring them to avoid misshaping your undergarments.

You can do whichever; just do not put your undergarments, especially your bra, in the dryer. You will not like the heat’s effects on its fabrics, elastics, and wires.

Lastly, store your undergarments properly. Neatly stack your panties in your drawers, and hang your bras. Do not fold them to save space; hanging them improves their longevity and prevents them from losing shape.
